|Eddie on Moving Schools|
Moving schools is always a daunting prospect. Along with the general worries to do with fitting in with new people and making friends, there’s also the issue of settling into new teachers and different teaching styles. Having decided to move to Notre Dame last January, I was definitely preparing myself for all these issues during my GCSE summer!
Having now been at the school for a full academic year, I can safely say that these worries never materialised. Throughout my time at Notre Dame I have been blown away by the welcome I have received from both staff and students alike. I have never felt alone or without a friend in all my time at the school, due in part to the sheer volume of really decent people that attend sixth form here! The friendliness and helpfulness of all the members of the school community sets Notre Dame head and shoulders above anything else I have experienced in my academic life; it’s just a great place to be!
On top of being a welcoming and warm place to study, the quality of teaching at our school is phenomenal. Year after year, the sixth form produces some outstanding, well-rounded pupils and never fails on providing all students with a top-quality education. No one gets left behind here; all students are treated with an equal degree of respect and teaching attention. This attitude has provided an atmosphere of equality and companionship, which I am proud to have become a part of.
Moving to Notre Dame has been the best move of my life so far, and I do not regret a single day that I have spent here. There is something about the school that can’t really be put into words, but is obvious to all the students here, something that makes Notre Dame really special. This place has always felt right for me, and I am certain that it will feel just as right for you!
