Reading together – Helping your child to read for success!

paired_readingHere at Notre Dame we are passionate about reading and we know that you as parents recognise how fundamental it is to your child’s education. This link takes you to some documents that will hopefully help you to work with your child at home to further their enjoyment of reading:

Great Reads for KS3 – this is an excellent starting point if you are wondering what authors and books to get your child interested in.

Reading Journal – this journal is designed to be printed off and filled in at home. You can work through it with your child at whatever pace suits you. You can work through just one book, or lots of different ones. When your child has completed the booklet we would love to see what you have been doing together and award some housepoints!

Reading Together – this presentation gives information about the Paired Reading scheme which some students in Y7 and Y8 are participating in. It also discusses different reading techniques your child will learn in school.
