Students are graded for effort and attainment in D&T at the end of each module. There are a total of 10 modules in KS3 and they are assessed in line with both the departmental and whole school assessment policy. In Key Stage 3 students study five modules each year, one module in each of the D&T areas; Simple Electronics, Food, Graphics, Resistant Materials and Textiles. The grades are awarded based on specific topics which draw together their designing and making skills. Sublevels are used to indicate if work is at the entry standard for the level (c), secure mid level (b), or top standard for the level (a).
